# Webcam Proctoring
The **Webcam Proctoring** feature enables test creators to monitor candidates through their webcam during an assessment and automatically identify potentially suspicious events.
The feature provides periodic webcam monitoring and automated image analysis to identify common cheating approaches during an assessment.
## Enabling Webcam Proctoring
To enable webcam monitoring, a test creator should open the assessment they want to edit or create and navigate to the **Score Settings** tab. Set **Proctoring Enabled** to **On** and **select the checkbox** on **Webcam monitoring for suspicious activity**. By default, this setting is disabled.

## Supported Features
The webcam monitoring feature has multiple functionalities that ensure fair, unbiased results, such as:
1. Candidate switching : Records when a test taker switches or substitutes during an assessment and records the snapshots in the detailed report.
2. Presence of multiple candidates : Records the presence of additional test taker during an assessment and records the snapshots in the detailed report.
3. Candidate's face being outside the camera view : Records the test taker being outside the camera view or missing from the camera view during the assessment and records the snapshots in the detailed report .
4. Suspicious head movement and other potentially suspicious events supported by the available image-matching APIs : Records test takers unusual or suspicious head movements based on the capabilities of the available image-analysis APIs during the assessment and records the snapshots in the detailed report.
## How It Works
When webcam monitoring is enabled , Speechace monitors test takers activity throughout the assessment. If a test taker is switched while taking the assessment , Speechace records the event with the exact timestamps.
The **first time**, the test taker has to register the photo as per the guidelines mentioned so as to verify and confirm the identity of the test taker .
**Candidate switching** : If the candidate is switched during the assessment and does not match with the registered photo, Speechace records this event. When the assessment is completed , a detailed report is generated which displays **webcam monitoring** analysis which detects the issue as **Identity mismatch**. The **Show images** button in webcam analysis gives snapshots about the switched candidate.
**Presence of multiple candidates**: If during the assessment there is a presence of additional test taker, Speechace records this event. When the assessment is completed , a detailed report is generated which displays **webcam monitoring** analysis which detects the issue as **Multiple Faces**. The **Show images** button in webcam analysis gives snapshots about the additional candidate presence during the assessment.
**Candidate's face being outside the camera view** : If the test taker is outside the camera view or missing from the camera view, Speechace records this event.When the assessment is completed , a detailed report is generated which displays **webcam monitoring** analysis which detects the issue as **Face Missing** .The **Show images** button in webcam analysis gives snapshots about the candidate being outside of the camera view.
**Suspicious head movement and other potentially suspicious events supported by the available image-matching APIs**: If the test taker during the assessment shows unusual or suspicious head movements , Speechace records this event. When the assessment is completed , a detailed report is generated which displays **webcam monitoring** analysis which detects the issue as **Head Movement** . The **Show images** button in webcam analysis gives snapshots about the candidates head movements.
