# Assessment configurations

Speaking and writing assessments allow you to design your own language assessments, to mimic any standardized speaking or writing test. 

You can customize and control the test taker’s interface in various ways, such as: 

1. Configuring different question types
2. Setting custom weights and maximum scores
3. Creating question groups to present questions in a random order.

## Getting started

To start adding your questions, click within any question field. You can add more questions using the "➕" icon, you can clone the question with the middle icon, or you can create question groups by clicking the "🟰" icon, as shown in the image below.
