Creating Assessments
If you have access to Speechace Workspaces, you can populate any workspace by creating your own assessments.
Assessments are the core product at Speechace. Test creators use them to assess language levels of students and other interviewees more rapidly than through typical processes.
Switch workspaces if necessary
If your account has several workspaces already, you can switch to the correct one by clicking the three-dot ellipsis next to the name of your current workspace, and selecting "Switch workspace".

Create new assessment
To begin creating assessments, go to "My Assessments" from the left-hand menu and then click on "Create New Assessment" button as shown in the image below:

Select Test Type and Language
First, choose the type of assessment you want to create: either a Speaking Assessment or a Writing Assessment.

When you are creating a Speaking Assessment, you will be able to select the language for the test taker's evaluation (see the image below for the selection step). For a Writing Assessment, test takers will always be assessed in English (US) by default.

The selected language will be automatically applied to the avatar's speech, the expected response language for the test taker, and the language of the detailed performance report. However, these settings are editable.
Select Clone or Custom Assessment
You have two options for creating assessments: Clone from library and Assessment with custom questions.

Clone from library
As a quick start, we have pre-created a library of assessments with preset questions. You can clone these assessments to your workspace, and share them with your test takers to quickly evaluate the Speechace platform.
Our pre-created library of assessments is in English (US). For Speaking Assessments with test language other than English (US), please create assessments with custom questions.
Custom assessments
In addition to using premade assessments, you can also create assessments with your own questions and content. This option provides you with a rich editor to design your own language assessments, using a variety of available types of questions, such as read-aloud text, open-ended questions, and task-achievement questions.
The following sections will explain how an assessment can be cloned or created using custom questions:
